Hugh WOODALL, was born 1841 in Holywell or Holyhead, Wales, son of Isaac WOODALL and Emily WILLIAMS. He was recorded as a sailor of "Muntham Station" in 1863 when he married Scotia MENZIES, b. ca 1840, Isle of Mull, Scotland, daughter of Duncan MENZIES and Margaret McCULLOUGH.

In 1875 Hugh WOODALL, with 3 school-aged children, living a mile N of Carapook, was marked on the Carapook map with the 1875 petition aimed at establishing a new school at Carapook.

Hugh's wife Scotia WOODALL died at Carapook in 1876 and was buried in the Old Casterton Cemetery.

Hugh WOODALL had another child in 1882 at Buckingham (near Bordertown), South Australia with Jane CLIPSTON.

Hugh WOODALL died at Mundulla (near Bordertown), South Australia in 1918
