John Allan BLAIR 1843-1935, b. Melbourne, Port Phillip, son of ...... & ...... He became a selector and farmer of Bahgallah, near Casterton, S-W Victoria, Australia in about 1870.

Hannah LARKIN c.1846-1932 was born in Co Antrim, Ireland daughter of Patrick LARKIN & Mary McBRIDE and arrived in Australia before 1865. Her sister Mary LARKIN c.1834-1903 who married James "Jimmy" REID 1834-1915 and brother James LARKIN c.1840-1931 who married Bridget McNAMARA c. 1835-1902, also emigrated to Australia.

John Allan BLAIR and Hannah LARKIN appear to have married before 1869 (marriage not located) as they had 7 children from 1869 to 1888 in the Casterton area. Hannah LARKIN had previously married in 1865 at Mount Gambier, S-E South Australia to Daniel MULLANE / MALANE / MILINE and they had a daughter Eliza born 1867 Mount Gambier and died in 1867 at Sandford, S-W Victoria.

The seven BLAIR children attended school at Bahgallah in the 1870s, '80s and '90s and their father John BLAIR was recorded as a farmer of Bahgallah during this period.

In 1932 Hannah BLAIR died at Casterton, S-W Victoria and was buried in the Casterton cemetery. Her husband, John Allan BLAIR died at Casterton in 1935 and was also buried in the Casterton cemetery.

  2. William John "Jack" BLAIR, b. 1871, Casterton, S-W Victoria, d. 1954, Hamilton, S-W Victoria, m. 1906 to Caroline HARVEY 1870-1957, b. Digby, S-W Victoria to William James HARVEY and Ellen BURNS. 1 child. Jack BLAIR Served in the Boer War in South Africa with the 5th Victorian Contingent. Named on Bahgallah Honour Roll.
  3. Elizabeth Ellen "Eliza" BLAIR, b. 1873, Casterton, S-W Victoria, d. 1915, Casterton, S-W Victoria.
  4. William Charles "Hairy" BLAIR, b. 1875, Bahgallah, S-W Victoria, d. 1906, Mildura, N-W Victoria. Served in the Boer War in South Africa with the 4th Victorian Bushmen's Contingent in 1900-1901. Named on Bahgallah Honour Roll.
  5. Patrick Lawrence "Laurie" BLAIR, b. 1877, Casterton, S-W Victoria, d. 1937, Casterton, S-W Victoria.
  6. James Allan BLAIR, b. 1880, Bahgallah, S-W Victoria, d. 1911, Wentworth, New South Wales.
