Hugh CAMERON b. between 1815 & 1821 Fort William, Inverness-shire, Scotland, son of Duncan CAMERON and Catherine KENNEDY was married in 1850 at Paisley, Scotland to Janet McFARLANE, b. c1821, Argyllshire, Scotland, daughter of Malcolm McFARLANE and Catherine McLEAN.

The couple arrived as assisted immigrants to Victoria at Geelong on the "Bourneuf" 3 Sep 1852 after sailing from Liverpool on 20 May 1852. A daughter Catherine had been born in Scotland (probably died before they left) and additional children were born in Geelong and Western Victoria (see below).

Hugh CAMERON, a retired boundary rider died in 1912 at Penshurst, Victoria, aged 97y (obituary) after a second marriage and additional children as Janet, his first wife had died in 1871 at "Devon Park" Station near Dunkeld, Victoria and was buried at Penshurst. According to his 1912 obituary, Hugh CAMERON had 8 sons & 2 daughters living at the time of his death.

Hugh CAMERON's first wife Janet died in 1871 at Devon Park Station near Dunkeld and he next married Sarah Marion BEATON b. ca 1840 Dundee, Scotland in 1876. Their children were:
