Donald CAMPBELL 1865-1954, b. Purnim (Warrnambool), Victoria to Angus CAMPBELL and Mary MUNRO; married at Mortlake, Victoria in 1889 to Margaret STEWART 1868-1941, b. Connewarre, near Geelong, Victoria, to Angus McDonald STEWART and Catherine RANKIN.

Donald and Margaret CAMPBELL appear to have lived at Ellerslie, Ballangeich, Penshurst & "Fernleigh," Talister Estate, Merino, S-W Victoria. 11 children were born from 1890 to 1909. Donald was recorded as a dairy farmer of "Talisker" estate, near Merino by 1915.

Four sons (Stuart, Angus "Gus," John "Jack" and Colin CAMPBELL) enlisted from Merino, and served with the AIF in WW1, and their names are recorded on the Merino WW1 Memorial. Gus served at Gallipoli and was killed at Pozieres in France, Stuart served at Gallipoli and was wounded and captured in France (POW in Germany), Jack was gassed in France and died in 1924 and Colin served on the Western Front and died in 1921.

Margaret CAMPBELL (nee STEWART) of Paschendale, near Merino, died aged 71y in the Hamilton Hospital in 1941 and was buried in the Merino cemetery. Donald CAMPBELL died at Warrnambool in 1954.
