& Frances "Fanny" PULFORD c.1853-1954. b. England of Lower Crawford, near Hotspur, S-W Victoria, & South Australia Stephen James CUTTING was b. 1851, Gumeracha, South Australia, son of Stephen CUTTING and Jane HOLWELL who had married in England about 1846 and arrived at Port Adelaide, Colony of South Australia in 1847. Frances "Fanny" PULFORD b. c.1853, England, daughter of John PULFORD and Sarah WEBSTER. She arrived, aged 2y, with her parents from Norfolkshire, England on the "Duchess of Northumberland" at Port Adelaide in Feb. 1856. By 1864 the family had moved to the South-East of South Australia, around Allendale, Mount Schanck and Port MacDonnell, south of Mount Gambier. Stephen James CUTTING and Frances "Fanny" PULFORD were married in 1875 in Mount Gambier, SA and had a family of 8 at Mount Gambier, S-E SA and the Hotspur region of S-W Victoria, where they lived from about 1878 to 1891 before returning to the Mount Gambier district. In January 1879 Stephen CUTTING had a rates valuation of £20 on 200 acres of land he farmed in the Glenaulin Parish (Hotspur-Winnap), S-W Victoria, Australia. In 1890 Stephen CUTTING died of Bright's diseas in the Mount Gambier hospital, and his widow Frances died in Mount Gambier, SA in 1954, both are buried in the Lake Terrace Cemetery at Mount Gambier.
