Clackmannanshire, Scotland, son of George DRUMMOND and Margaret Fairburn SCOTT, sheep farmer of Merino, S-W Victoria, died (suicide) near Merino, S-W Victoria in 1885 leaving a widow and three young children. Mary ELLEN LEAKE 1853-1893, b. Merino, S-W Victoria, daughter of John LEAKE and Mary WESTON, d. Casterton (of Digby), S-W Victoria. James DRUMMOND and Mary Ellen LEAKE were married in 1877 and had five children from 1878-1884 at Merino, S-W Victoria. Three of their children were attending Digby State SCHOOL in the late 1880's after the death of their father in 1885. After the death of her husband in 1885, Mary ELLEN DRUMMOND (nee LEAKE) married in 1889 to Alfred Arthur John FARLEY 1855-1896, a cross-country rider of Digby, S-W Victoria.
