Thomas and Ann MACKWOOD arrived in the Colony of Port Phillip (Victoria), Australia in 1841, along with thie infant son Robert. They moved to Portland on the S-W coast of the colony in the same year where 4 children were born from 1843-1850.
By 1852 the family had moved from Portland north to Digby (Emu Creek) where Thomas was a carpenter, and another 2 children were born in 1852 and 1856.
In 1856 Thomas MACKWOOD built a house in Merino for _ EGAN, which by 1857 was being used as a school.
By 1858 the family was residing at the neighbouring hamlet of Merino where another 3 children were born. In 1859 Thomas MACKWOOD held the license to the "Merino Inn" at Merino, S-W Victoria.
Thomas and Ann MACKWOOD were both buried in the Merino cemetery.
