Duncan McLENNAN was b. ~1805, Ross-shire ?, Scotland, son of Alexander McLENNAN and Ann McGREGOR.

Christina McRAE was b. ~1879, Ross-shire ?, Scotland, daughter of Alexander McRAE and Mary BEATON.

Duncan McLENNAN and Christina McRAE were married in 1834 in Contin, Ross & Cromartyshire (Roc), Scotland and had at least six children in Contin, Ross & Cromartyshire (Roc), Scotland from 1834 to 1847.

Duncan & Christina McLENNAN and their family of six children emigrated from Liverpool on the ship "Marion" which arrived at Adelaide, South Australia in December 1854. The passenger list recorded the family as :--Duncan McLENNAN (36, Agr. Labourer from Dingwall, Ross, Scotland), Christiana (36), Mary (19, Domestic Servant), Farquhar (15, Labourer), Alexander (13), Julia (13) [sic Isabella], Donald (8) Barbara (7).

The family appears to have remained in South Australia until 1862 when Duncan McLENNAN selected land at Bowtell's Creek, near Sandford in S-W Victoria and established a home there which he named "Burnside."

Duncan died at his residence as reported in a local newspaper...

Death. McLENNAN. - On the 29th of May, 1896, at his residence, "Burnside," Sandford, Duncan McLennan, late of Strathconnan and Dingwall, Rosshire, Scotland, aged 91 years and 9 months, after a long illness borne with Christian patience. Home papers please copy. He left a wife, Christina, and a large family.

Obituary. Mrs. Catherine [sic Christina] McLennan, widow of the late Duncan McLennan, farmer, of Bowtell's Creek, Sandford, died last Saturday, aged 103 years.
