Murdoch McLENNAN was b. 1827, Contin, Ross-shire, Scotland, son of Alexander McLENNAN and Catherine McLENNAN. He was brother of Malcolm McLENNAN 1835-1882, b. Contin, Ross-shire, Scotland who was also having children in the Sandford area of S-W Victoria in the 1860s & 1870s before also moving to the Dalby area of Queensland.
Christina THOMSON was b. 1835, Peebles, Scotland, daughter of James THOMSON and Agnes JACKSON.
Murdoch McLENNAN and Christina THOMSON were married in 1852 or 1853 in Ross-shire, Scotland and emigrated to Australia in 1853. They appear to have arrived on the "Australia" at Melbourne, Victoria in November 1853.
The young couple went to the Victorian goldfields for nearly ten years, and were near Castlemaine and Bendigo where at least three children were born from 1856-1860.
By 1862 they were near Merino & Sandford in S-W Victoria where another seven children were born from 1862 to 1875. In 1870 the family was at "Mount Struan" station, near Sandford, S-W Vic., when their daughter Christina was born.
By 1879 the family had moved to Queensland where a son was born. The family selected land and settled in the Dalby area of Queensland, where, on Thursday, 23rd July, 1903, Mr. and Mrs. Murdoch M'Lennan celebrated their fiftieth anniversary of their wedding at their homestead, "Fairview," near Dalby.
Murdoch died in 1906, aged 78y and his widow Christina died in 1913 near Dalby, Queensland.
